UMD has a “winter term” lasting from January 2nd to the 22nd—two days before the start of their spring semester— earning it a “4-1-4” label.

UMD requires that individuals who want their CDS to download a .xlsx file. The origin of the file is in a link below. https://www.irpa.umd.edu/InstitutionalData/cds.html

UMD seems to admit students for its spring term AND admit students on a rolling basis for any available slots. However, I feel that it is important to mention that, according to CollegeTransitions, ~90% of the past few incoming freshman classes to UMD have been admitted through the school’s early action (EA) program.
